In Batumi, the closing event of the first International Week on the Protection of Consumer Rights was held, which was attended by representatives of the Batumi City Hall, representatives of the organizations working on the protection of consumer rights, international organizations and the business sector. Heads of the Georgian National Competition Agency, the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission, the Communication Commission, the National Bank of Georgia, the Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia and the National Food Agency gave speeches at the conference.
At the event, parties discussed on the protection of consumer rights in Georgia, discussed the situation in the regions, challenges and ways to solve them. The representatives of the Authorities introduced the projects implemented in the direction of protection of consumer rights to the participants of the event.
On March 13-17, the first International Week on the Protection of Consumer Rights is being held in Georgia, organized by the Georgian National Competition Agency, the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission, the Communication Commission, the National Bank of Georgia, the Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia and the National Food Agency. Within the frame of the event, the regulatory bodies discussed the reforms implemented in the direction of consumer rights protection, the obtained results, existing challenges, enforcement mechanisms, effective consumer awareness campaigns and international experiences.
