The head of the Competition and Consumer Policies Branch at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Teresa Moreira, delivered a speech at the current international conference on competition and consumer rights at the Sheraton Metekhi Palace and discussed the achievements that Georgia has in this field. As Teresa Moreira stated, Georgia is actively working to create an environment providing equal opportunities for business, which, according to her, will contribute to the sustainable development of the country.
The head of the Competition and Consumer Policies Branch at the UNCTAD thanked the five regulatory agencies of Georgia for fruitful cooperation and emphasized that such unity is not very common. According to her, this is a very high standard indicator.
"It is a great honor for me that I was given the opportunity to come to Tbilisi and support the work that was done in connection with the amendments to the Law on Competition. I would like to thank the organizers of today's conference and say that such cooperation is not very common. Today in Georgia you are actively working to create a business environment that provides equal opportunities, which in turn will contribute to the sustainable development of the country. All this is very important for both businesses and citizens. I can say that Georgia is on the right path in the direction of growth and development," stated Teresa Moreira.
