Anuj Verma

Deputy Director (Financial Analyst), Competition Commission of India

Mr. Anuj Verma, Deputy Director (Financial Analyst) is an officer of the Competition Commission of India. He has over 12+ working experience, including 10 years of working in Government PSU and Regulatory Body. He is a qualified Cost and Management Accountant (ICWAI) and holds a degree in the Masters of Commerce. He also holds law degree.

Mr. Anuj Verma is working in the HR Division and holding additional charge of new regulations in the Secretariat Division. Before his current assignment, he was working in the Combination Division of the Commission, which deals with the regulation of combinations i.e., mergers and acquisitions under provisions of the Competition Act, 2002. During his tenure in the combination division, he has been the team member of various combination cases relating sectors such as agrochemicals, steel and iron, private equity, automobiles, information technology, insurance and banking, financial sectors, e-commerce, digital Markets and big tech companies.  

He has been a resource person for Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs and National Institute of Financial Management.  He likes to write on issues relating to public policy, corporate governance and competition law. His latest publications include, ‘CCI’s initiative on ease of doing businesses in India: Green Channel route for approval of mergers’ in the Bar and Bench.

Before joining the Commission, he has been working in Food Corporation of India, a Central Public Sector Undertaking of Government of India, in the capacity of Assistant General Manager (Accounts).
