María Pilar Canedo Arrillaga

Senior Expert at the OECD’s Competition Division, Commissioner of the Spanish National Markets and Competition Commission

María Pilar Canedo Arrillaga is a Senior Expert at the OECD’s Competition Division and a Commissioner of the Spanish National Markets and Competition Commission. At Deusto University, she has served as Director of the Doctoral Program, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law for International Relations, and held various other academic positions. Former President of the Basque Competition Authority and former Member of the Basque Competition Court, she has distinguished herself through an extensive career in academia and legal practice. She holds a Doctorate in Competition Law and is a Professor of Private International Law and International Trade. Her academic influence extends internationally, with appointments as a visiting professor at numerous law schools across Europe and North America. She is the recipient of the prestigious Jean Monnet Chair in Transnational Trade Law and has authored over 50 publications spanning Competition Law, Private International Law, and European Union Law.
