
Dr Sven Gallasch
Senior Lecturer at Deakin Law SchoolDr Sven Gallasch has pursued an extensive and impressive academic pathway in law. He undertook his undergraduate legal studies at the University of Trier and the University of Augsburg, where he developed a strong foundation in legal theory and practice. He then advanced his specialisation in competition law by completing a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Competition Law and Policy at the University of East Anglia, a leading centre for research in the field. Building on this, he was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Competition Law from the University of East Anglia.
Dr Sven Gallasch is a Senior Lecturer in Law at Deakin University, Melbourne, specialising in competition law. He has published extensively on pharmaceutical antitrust and, more recently, his research has focused on the role of informal cooperation between competition authorities in transnational contexts. His work also examines the cultural dimensions that shape effective cooperation and capacity-building within international organisations such as UNCTAD. Dr Gallasch currently coordinates the Review of the Commentaries to the UNCTAD Model Law on Competition for the UNCTAD secretariat.
