Alibek Raipov

Director of the World Economy Research Center at the Economic Research Institute JSC, Kazakhstan

He is a seasoned economic policy expert with over 15 years of experience in international economic cooperation, government advisory, and strategic project management. He currently serves as the Director of the World Economy Research Center at the Economic Research Institute under the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where he leads research and analytical work on Kazakhstan’s engagement with global economic institutions, including the OECD, EAEU, SCO, and ECO.

Alibek’s career spans key leadership and expert roles across public institutions and international development projects, including procurement coordination under the World Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development frameworks. His expertise covers global economic monitoring, trade and investment policy, financial risk assessment, and strategic planning for sustainable development. He is a contributing member of major policy initiatives, including the OECD EIPC Network and the concept development for a regional OECD office in Central Asia.

He holds an MBA in Project Management from City Business School and degrees in finance, English, and Spanish. Alibek is fluent in Kazakh, Russian, and English. He is also a certified professional mediator.
