Since 2017, Peter Hoeltzenbein has been a Senior Case Manager at the Bundeskartellamt in charge of IT and Telecommunications. In a previous role he was managing cases from the media and broadcasting sector including sports.  From 2010 to 2013 he spent three years with the Directorate-General for Competition at the European Commission in Brussels handling cases pertaining to IT, internet and consumer electronics. Before joining public service in 2005, he worked for a number of years as a competition lawyer in private practice.

Peter Hoeltzenbein is qualified to practice law in Germany as well as England & Wales. He studied law at the universities of Muenster and Bochum (Germany) as well as Cambridge (England).
