Official letter by Teresa Moreira, Head of the Competition and Consumer Policies Branch at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) for evaluating the first international conference on “Competition and Consumer Rights” in Georgia.
The letter marks the successful cooperation of five regulators - the National Competition Agency, GNERC, the National Bank of Georgia, the Communications Commission, and the State Insurance Supervision Service and the success achieved as a result of this cooperation.
Teresa Moreira thanked the whole team for the invitation, cooperation, and fruitful cooperation. "Thank you and congratulations for the excellent organization of the event, which allowed us to hold high-level discussions and obtain relevant results regarding regional cooperation, which UNCTAD fully supports. On November 16-17th, 2022 the first International Conference on Competition and Consumer Protection held in Georgia. The two-day event was jointly organized by the Georgian National Competition Agency, the National Bank of Georgia, Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission, National Communications Commission and Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia. Involvement of the public agencies, regulatory bodies, academic communities, international organizations, business sector, local and international experts and fellow agencies from up to 20 countries. Teresa Moreira delivered the keynote intervention by the presentation on IMPACT OF COMPETITION AND CONSUMER RIGHTS PROTECTION ON WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT (with a focus on emerging economies) at the conference.
