Fahad Alshathri
Chief Executive Officer and Board Member, General Authority for Competition in Saudi Arabia
Over his 30-year career, he has held key executive positions across the public and private sectors, including Deputy Governor at the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), Executive Director and Board Member at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and Economic Advisor at the Ministry of Finance.
Dr. AlShathri has contributed significantly to Saudi Arabia’s international institutional, regulatory, and economic policy frameworks, including through the G20 and the IMF. He serves on numerous national and international boards and committees, such as the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS), the Financial Stability Board (FSB), and the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB).
He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Lehigh University (USA) and a Master’s degree in Economics from King Saud University (Saudi Arabia).
