Lasha Gzirishvili

Lasha Gzirishvili, Head of Consumer Protection and Financial Education Department of the National Bank of Georgia

Mr. Gzirishvili holds a Bachelor of Arts degree of American University of Hawaii, Tbilisi Campus, in International Law and Diplomacy, and a Master’s Degree of American University for Humanities, Tbilisi Campus, in International Management. Mr. Gzirishvili has extensive experience in banking: during 2001-2010, he worked at different commercial banks in Georgia and held managerial positions in the directions of consumer service and plastic card business. In 2011, Mr. Gzirishvili joined the National Bank of Georgia to lead the newly established Consumer Protection Division. During 2015-2017, he headed Operational Risk Management Division of one of the leading banks of Georgia. In 2017, Mr. Gzirishvili rejoined the National Bank of Georgia as a Head of Consumer Protection and Financial Education Department. His responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing financial sector consumer protection and financial education policy, and monitoring the implementation of National Strategy for Financial Education, as well as different educational projects within the framework of the strategy.
