The IV International Conference on Competition Policy Enforcement and Consumer Rights Protection will take place from November 13 to 15, 2025 in Tbilisi. The event is jointly organized by the Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency, the National Bank of Georgia, the National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission of Georgia, the Communications Commission, and the Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia.
This conference serves as a vital platform that underscores Georgia’s growing role in shaping competition and consumer protection policies across the region. It will gather heads of competition and consumer protection authorities from multiple countries, alongside local and international experts, representatives from public institutions, regulatory bodies, academia, the business sector, and international organizations.
A dedicated panel featuring the heads of the five regulatory bodies will showcase Georgia’s achievements, challenges, and results in competition and consumer rights protection through a sectoral lens.
The conference program includes seven sessions and three international panel discussions with distinguished local and international experts. Key topics will include: Competition Policy in Regulated Sectors: Challenges and OpportunitiesBuilding Fair Markets: Protecting Children and Vulnerable Consumers; Digital Fairness in Practice: Addressing Dark Patterns and Unfair Commercial Practices; The Future of Mergers: Navigating New Global Realities; Regulation and Innovation: Finding the Right Balance in Competition Policy; The Role of International Organizations and Cross-Border Cooperation in Consumer Protection;
Moreover, a memorandum of cooperation will be signed among the participating authorities during the conference, aiming to strengthen international partnerships and promote systemic collaboration.
Since its inception in 2022, this international conference has steadily gained prominence. Last year’s event welcomed delegations from 12 countries, featured over 50 international and local speakers, and attracted more than 300 delegates. Leading organizations such as the International Competition Network (ICN), UNCTAD, OECD, EU DG COMP, and EU DG JUSTICE participated, contributing to six working sessions and two international panel discussions.
